Tire shops sell and install new tires, patch punctures, balance wheels and, at most locations, align the suspension. Prices are quoted per tire plus mounting, balancing, valve stems and a state disposal fee for the old set; many shops price-match and include free rotation and flat repair for the life of the tire. Used tire shops sell inspected take-offs for a fraction of the price of new ones, useful for an older car or a single replacement, but check the tread depth (4/32 inch or more) and the DOT date code, since rubber ages even on the shelf. Mobile tire services come to your driveway or the roadside, commercial shops handle semi, trailer, farm and off-road tires, and wheel shops repair and refinish bent or curb-scraped rims.

On 6/23/2026, I made an online appointment for 1:00 PM for an oil change and NC State vehicle inspection at the Mr. Tire store at 401 N. Elm street in Greensboro, NC and checked the box indicating that I would wait rather than drop off. I received a text "Your appointment has been confirmed at our Mr. Tire store on Tuesday, June 23 at 1:00 PM" and an email "The appointment for your vehicle has been confirmed at our 401 N. Elm Street store." I arrived at the store at approximately 12:55 PM and advised the attendant that I had a 1:00 PM appointment for an oil change and NC State inspection. He stated that there was going to be a wait. I asked "what about my appointment?" He said "Those are taken somewhere in Asia and we don't get any notice" That was a mind numbing answer. I decided to wait and my vehicle was not finished until 3:30. I will take my business elsewhere next time I need service.

I had a flat tire and got my car towed here. I called before hand and spoke to the manager to confirm that the tire was in stock. After I got it towed here they proceeded to tell me I have to get the RECOMMENDED speed rating and they wouldnβt install it they tire we talked about previously. So instead of 125$ per tire it went to 325$ per tire. ABSOLUTELY NOT. If thatβs the case they shouldβve told me that beforehand especially considering I told them Iβm towing it up there. So instead Iβll get another tow and go to Firestone on west market who said theyll do it. The 2 tows plus the tire from Firestone will be cheaper than the 1 tire from Mr tire. TERRIBLE BUSINESS & a complete waste of time.

I made an appointment on-line for an oil change. Upon arrival, I was told it would be a wait because two technicians were out. However, I did not expect an over two-hour delay! Anyway, I believed the technician performed the oil change that I requested. He was very cordial even when presenting me with a bill that was almost $40 over the quoted price. There were so many βunexpectedβ charges that I had to question them. Just to name one, there was a $6.00 plus charge for βshop suppliesβ. When asked about it, I was told it was probably for a paper towel used to check the oil! Anyway, the manager was informed of my outrage and conceded to taking a mere $10 off the price. He didnβt even have the courtesy to speak with me. If the service is going to be substantially over the advertised price, consumers should know before hand. If customers are going to be swindled out of their money, just tell them upfront before the service is performed. I wonβt be going back!

First time stopping by. Mr. Tire provides exceptional service ! They got me in and out for an internal tire patch. Iβm very pleased with the work and care provided. James educated me on my vehicle and the owner, Jeff and I had a pleasant conversation as I waited. Say hello to Jax, the sweet chihuahua, if you see him!

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I truly regret not reading the reviews before coming here. The hostility started the moment I arrived, being barked at to re-park my car should have been the first red flag. I came in for a simple state inspection and was told mid-inspection that my car would fail due to a βbadβ tire. I agreed to have the tire replaced, but I refused their attempt to upsell me on a so-called mandatory tire sensor I did not need. After they finished the inspection and tire replacement, I drove off only to immediately see my TPMS light stuck on. I assumed it would reset since Mr. Tire had just changed my tires, but nothing changed. So I returned. Thatβs when things got unbelievable. The manager and his aggressive assistant manager insisted that I had arrived with damaged sensors. The way they spoke to me was humiliating and borderline discriminatory. I have lived in this country nearly a decade, and I have never been treated this poorly or with such disrespect. This place is a blatant money-grab operation. They dismissed my concerns, accused me of lying, and acted as if I was trying to scam them over a TPMS issue. Meanwhile, my receipt clearly shows
